I have been a qualified Hairdresser for 11 years.
Please tell us about your previous jobs in the hairdressing industry?
I worked as a Saturday girl for two years in a local salon and then went on to do a two year apprentice at Andrew Collinge. After qualifying as a stylist, I worked in an Afro Caribbean salon for a year before taking a career break to have my children.
Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing / are you renowned for?
Colour wise I enjoy doing balayage and creative colouring, I always enjoy styling hair, long or short.
What do you love about being a hairdresser?
I love making my clients hair look and feel the best it can possibly be. I also love to give top tips on and pass on my knowledge and skills so people can recreate that salon look at home.
Which celebrity hair would you like to get your hands on and why?
I would love to style Beyonce Knowles hair as she has always been such an icon to me. I love her ever changing fashion, songs and hairstyles!
What would you do to their hair?
I would love to embrace her natural curl and style it half up, half down.
Who or what inspires you to create fabulous hair?
The woman I work with inspire me a lot, they are all so creative and passionate about what they do. Of course, Tracy Cunningham is a massive influence to me as she creates the most incredible hair styles.
If you had to live on a desert island, which three hair products would you take with you?
I love Redken’s mega soft leave in conditioner as it leaves your hair feeling incredible, I’d also take the extreme shampoo. Lastly, I would take no Blow dry NBD as I wouldn’t have a hairdryer so this would be perfect to style my hair with minimal effort.
What is your ultimate ambition?
My ambition is to one day be Salon Manager and help educate the stylists of the future.
